A One-day workshop of Natural Dyeing was held on September 26th 2016 by Department of Handicrafts Development and Promotion of Isfahan Handicrafts and Tourism Organization in conjunction with Handicrafts and Traditional Affairs Department of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Isfahan and Persis Art company, with the participation of artists, mentors and experts at Isfahan School of Art.
The workshop started with the speech of Ghada Hijavi, head of World Crafts Council-Asia Pacific Region. She stated: “Synthetic dyes are dangerous for natural environment. For this reason, we are seeking to revive the use of natural dyes.”
Dr. Bahman Namvar Motlagh, Deputy Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHTO) thanked the private sector for the holding of this workshop.
Sayeda Ghaznavi, Shamim Ara from Bangladesh, Monica Savela from India, Fath Ali Ghashghaifar and Dr. Jalil Jokar, Mentors of Persis company, explained the natural dyeing methods to participants.
At the end of the workshop, each participant was given a certificate which was signed by Ghad Hajivi, head of World Crafts Council-Asia Pacific Region, Masoud Soltanifar, President of the Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization and Vang Shang, Vice-President of WCC.
The goals of this workshop were to promote the knowledge of participants and transfer the knowledge of natural dyeing methods from experts and artists to the participants.
